At Cheshire Hospices Education our Palliative Care programme outcomes are very much focussed on enabling post registration students to explore and develop their attitudes/behaviours/self awareness as well as skills and knowledge in symptom management. We try to work closely with practice areas and would like to help students link their learning outcomes into their development reviews through things like KSF - is anyone doing this already?

Thank you for posting here. This is a topic that should hopefully bring about some discussion as it’s a very interesting area. The forums are still relatively new so don’t worry if traffic seems a bit slow at first! Anyone out there reading this please feel free to join the discussion.
Education in our facility use a learning map to document what staff have done - it includes the theoretical content behind the skills-based competency assessment. The charge nurses use the map to feed the professional development (performance appraisal) each year.
In other areas, many of our workshops / seminars are able to acrue CE points (can be documented with our national nursing body RCNA), along with clinically based courses which may (with appropriate assessment) earn credit in tertiary study.
